Call for Speakers – Now Closed

The Call for Speakers for WordCamp Kampala 2026 has officially come to a close, marking an exciting milestone in the journey toward this year’s event. We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who took the time to submit a proposal. The response has been truly inspiring, reflecting the passion, diversity, and depth of knowledge within our growing community.

This year, we received a wide range of submissions from Uganda and across Africa. From experienced professionals to first-time speakers, the level of interest highlights just how vibrant and engaged the WordPress ecosystem continues to be. Each application brought unique perspectives, ideas, and experiences, all aligned in different ways with this year’s theme, “Tech for Social Good.”

As we move into the next phase, our organizing team has been carefully reviewing all submissions. The process is both exciting and challenging, as we work to curate a program that is balanced, impactful, and relevant to our audience. We are looking to create a lineup that not only showcases technical expertise but also highlights real-world applications, community stories, and innovative approaches to using WordPress and technology for positive change.

While we would love to accommodate every speaker, the reality is that we have limited session slots. This means that selection decisions are guided by a number of factors, including relevance to the theme, diversity of topics, speaker experience, and the overall balance of the program. Our goal is to ensure that attendees have access to high-quality sessions that are practical, insightful, and inspiring.

We understand that submitting a proposal takes time and effort, and we deeply value every contribution. Whether or not a session is selected, your willingness to share knowledge and be part of WordCamp Kampala 2026 is what makes this community so special. For those who may not be selected this year, we encourage you to stay engaged and consider applying again in the future.

Successful applicants are being contacted directly with the next steps, including guidance on preparing their sessions, submitting speaker profiles, and aligning their presentations with the event program. We are committed to supporting our speakers and ensuring they have everything they need to deliver impactful sessions.

Although the Call for Speakers is now closed, there are still many ways to be part of WordCamp Kampala 2026. You can attend the event, participate in Contributor Day, or take part in the Do-Action initiative. Each of these opportunities offers a chance to learn, connect, and contribute to the community in meaningful ways.

WordCamp Kampala 2026 continues to be a platform where ideas come to life, connections are built, and impact is created. As we move closer to the event, we are excited about what lies ahead and grateful to everyone who is playing a part in making it happen.
