He currently serves as an ICT educator at St. Leo’s College Kyegobe.

His passion for inclusive technology was sparked in early 2016, after losing his sight. His first assignment was to teach ICT to learners with visual impairment-a role that revealed to him the many barriers visually impaired students face in accessing education.

Ralph holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Special Needs Education with a focus on visual impairment and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies with Education, both from Kyambogo University.

Over the years, he has contributed to various student-led tech initiatives, such as developing educational websites and participating in coding hackathons that address local challenges. He is also a pioneer in introducing ICT to learners with visual impairments in Uganda-an area previously neglected due to the lack of both qualified teachers and suitable resources.

In the current project, Ralph serves as a UI/UX designer and content developer, ensuring that the learning platform is intuitive and accessible to users with visual impairments. He brings skills in front-end development, screen reader testing, and a deep commitment to inclusive design.

Ralph believes that technology should empower everyone, regardless of their abilities. He maintains that education is a right, not a privilege-and making learning platforms accessible ensures no one is left behind.

He envisions the platform becoming a national model for accessible e-learning, inspiring institutions across Uganda to adopt inclusive practices.

One experience that profoundly influenced his journey was meeting a blind student who had never independently accessed a digital learning tool. That moment solidified his mission to drive change in accessible education.

Outside of his work in technology and education, Ralph enjoys listening to rap music, mentoring young people in tech, and constantly learning something new in the field of technology.

Musiime Ralph is an ICT educator and assistive technology consultant based in Uganda.
